standing solar cooker do it yourself

by Advice Seeker
(Mexico)

I live in central Mexico and am interested in making a permanent standing solar cooker. It would be something I would use daily. I have many rescue dogs on the property and would need something safe...thus something off the ground. Could anyone give me some sound advice on how I could construct something like I have described?

Thank you for your inquiry.

There are a number of different methods you could use to construct a permanent and stable solar cooker that would keep the cooker safe from animals and such.

There are two solar cooker foundations that I found to be quite practical for creating a safe and secure solar cooking location.
The first one can be seen here at Cob Solar Oven

It is what you would call a Cob Solar Oven, and I believe it was constructed in Mexico.

The second would be at this site http://www.suninfusion.com/index.html

and it sits on a sturdy pedestal with a protective covering to shield it from the elements when not in use.

And one more that was developed by Barbara Kerr of Arizona Wall Oven

I have not personally built or owned either of these solar cookers, but I would recommend you study these solar cookers further.
