I recommend welding glasses NEW
by: Chris

Looking too long at the bright spot with lack of certified UV protection Eyewear can damage your eyes. I just bought a autodarkening welding helmet. Your eyes are worth the 50 to 100 bucks.

solar cooking sunglasses

Thank you for the question.

I used to not take eye protection while solar cooking too seriously, but after a few years of doing this I have tried to use protection more often.
I still don't use sunglasses as often as I could but I especially do so with the parabolic cookers since I have to look at the focal points when focusing the parabolic.

Any good pair of sunglasses will definitely help.

I have heard some people comment that you should use welding goggles, but that really is not necessary.
But, if you have them, why not?
