Demonstrating a solar cooker indoors

Although you cannot cook without the sun, you can demonstrate the principles of solar cooking and the design elements of your solar cooker while indoors.
All Solar cookers need the following 4 attributes in order to cook.
1. COLLECTION - you can show how the reflectors are arranged to collect light and focus it on the cooking area.
2. ABSORPTION - you can talk about how the light is turned to heat on a dark colored surface.
3. RETENTION - you can talk about how the heat is retained. If your cooker has a door, the heat is retained by the door or other covering. Are you using an oven bag to protect the pot? The bag is a means of retention.
4. DURATION - you can explain how the cooker must be moved during the day to maintain focus on the suns azimuth and elevation.
