In 1992 I saw my very 1st. solar cooker demonstration at solar energy fair.
It was a solid state parabolic disk that focused the sun onto a hot plate. It was $300., but I just didn't have the cash on me or I would have bought one then and there.
Twenty years later I saw an improved version at a local alternative energy event and decided I just had to get one. Since then I’ve been having a blast experimenting with cooking various foods under varying conditions. I am really blown away by how powerful yet simple this technology is. I especially love that little "Sun Dial" (a bolt) that makes it so easy to aim the cooker directly at the sun. Using a "Temperature Gun" that I got from an auto parts store, I was also impressed by how hot it can get (700º+) even under non-optimum conditions. But I was most impressed by the fact that I could BAKE as well as fry, boil, or steam food with this cooker. So I have made my very first YouTube video to share the experience with others. I've baked everything from Pizza to Corn Bread on this cooker and I really love it! Thanks for letting me share.

Greetings, and thank you for sharing your experiences with your very own SunPower Solar Parabolic Cooker.
Yes, it is a great solar cooker...that is why we carry it amongst the various solar cookers/ovens that we offer here on our site.
I am glad to hear that you are getting so much use and enjoyment from your solar cooker...it really is great to be able to get such benefits as fully cooked food from just using the abundant power of the sun.
Thank you for the link to your video also.
